Automac Engineering is looking for a Project Design Engineer – Mechanical, with a practical approach to design. The ideal applicant would have:

• A minimum of 5 -10 years 3D Design & Detailing experience (Preferably Solidworks)
• An understanding of control systems (electrical, PLC, servo)
• Experience in the design of machinery parts and systems
• Experience in the food and packaging industries (preferred)
• Have sound mechanical engineering knowledge
• A qualification in a mechanical discipline
• Excellent verbal & written English communication skills
• Be able to work within a tightly-knit team

The successful applicant would be responsible for:

• Design and detailing of automated machinery and conveyors projects
• Liaising with Electrical Engineers and programmers to deliver machinery and projects
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and the project team in developing design solutions
• Project management/supervision of the construction of new projects
• The ability to communicate with the manufacturing workshop to ensure the product(s) meet specification and quality requirements is critical in this role
