About Us
Automac Engineering Limited is a privately owned and operated company specialising in the design and manufacture of conveyors and packaging machinery in the food and beverage processing industries. Our directors, John Bannister and Hayden Nelson, have over 40 years of combined experience working with these industries and still run the business.
We are based in East Tamaki, Auckland, New Zealand which is home to our integrated sales, design and manufacturing team. We have a strong design focus and utilise the latest SolidWorks and AutoCAD software. The industries we service include snack foods, OEM’s , dairy, meat, poultry, seafood and materials handling. We have had the benefit of working with some of New Zealand’s leading suppliers including, amongst others, Fonterra, Griffins, Hellers and Tasti Products.

Meet our leadership
John Bannister
Managing Director
John founded Automac Engineering and is the primary sales contact person for our equipment. John has worked in the food, beverage and packaging industry for over 16 years in New Zealand as well as overseas. He has worked as tradesman, head designer and project manager, which means that he is able to approach each project with a balanced and practical perspective.
Hayden Nelson
Director
Hayden heads our conveyor team and also assists in streamlining our design and manufacturing processes. This enables us to deliver quality equipment at a cost-effective price. Hayden joined Automac Engineering in 2008 having had 15 years experience in product and special purpose machinery design. Hayden has worked with many leading companies around the world including Fisher and Paykel, ABB and Glaxo Smith Kline.
