A fabric belt conveyor is the most classic and simple in design and offers a low cost form of conveying. A belt conveyor can be adapted for use in a variety of different applications, from raw food at the beginning of the process, to conveying the final packaged product to dispatch. It consists of a continuous loop of fabric, typically made from materials like polyester, nylon, or rubber, which is stretched between two or more rollers. Typically only one roller is powered by a motor, enabling the belt to move and carry the items placed on it.
Flat Conveyor: This type of conveyor features a flat, horizontal belt surface, making it suitable for transporting a wide range of products, including small and lightweight items.
Incline and Decline Conveyor: Incline and decline belt conveyors are designed to transport items between different elevations. The belt is configured to handle slopes or angles, allowing for the efficient movement of products up or down inclines.
Textured Top Belt: A textured top belt conveyor incorporates a patterned or textured surface on the belt, providing enhanced grip and preventing items from slipping during transportation. It is particularly useful for inclines or applications where stability is crucial.
Trough Conveyor: Trough belt conveyors have side walls or flanges along the edges of the belt, forming a trough-like shape. This design prevents materials from spilling or falling off the sides of the conveyor, making it suitable for handling bulk materials or loose items.
Hygienic Conveyor: Hygienic belt conveyors are specifically designed for industries with strict cleanliness and sanitation requirements, such as food and dairy processing. They feature smooth and easy-to-clean belts, stainless steel construction and other hygienic design principles to minimize the risk of contamination.
Knife edge: Knife edge conveyors feature a center drive roller with very tight radius bend on the infeed and outfeed. This allows for a very close transfer when conveying small or delicate products. Often knife edge conveyors are paired with high release belts to convey chocolates, biscuits, pancakes or other food items.
